HomeMy WebLinkAboutMary BrunsonIN RECOGNITION OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF MARY BRUNSON, A RESIDENT OF THE CITY OF FORT PIERCE, ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA FOR 71 YEARS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. Mary Brunson was born on June 12, 1909 in Maysville, South Carolina, married Benjamin Brunson in 1933, and was a resident of Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County, Florida for 71 years. 2. Mary Brunson had 13 children, including three sets of twins, 78 grandchildren, 174 great-grandchildren, 91 great-great grandchildren, and 9great-great-great grandchildren. 3. Mary Brunson was the matriarch of her family and her Fort Pierce community, leading and inspiring young people to continue their education, so they could become productive citizens of the community, and was truly an inspiration to everyone who met her. 4. Throughout her many fruitful years, Mary Brunson dedicated her life to leading by example and offered the words of advice, "Never give up", "Believe in yourself," "Surround yourself with people who can help you achieve your goals," "Celebrate your community and your community will celebrate you," and "Never say I can't". NOW, THEREFORE, it is determined that: 1. Mary Brunson is hereby remembered and honored for the service, commitment, and loyalty she demonstrated to her family, her friends, and her community this 6th day of April 2013.
