A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY
AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING ATLAS FOR A PORTION OF FIVE PARCELS OF
LAND OWNED BY HEARN, HEDAL AND COLETTI/MARCELLO FROM AG-5
(AGRICULTURAL RESIDENTIAL - 1DU/5 ACRES) TO AR-1 (AGRICULTURAL,
RESIDENTIAL - 1 DU/ACRE) AND FROM I(INSTITUTIONAL) TO AR-1 (AGRICULTURAL,
RESIDENTIAL -1 DU/ACRE) ZONING DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, based on
testimony and evidence, including, but not limited to the staff report, has made the following
determinations:
St. Lucie County has initiated amendments to the Official Zoning Atlas for a portion of
five privately owned parcels totaling 14.61 acres (M.O.L.) from AG-5 (Agricultural - 1
du/5 Acres) to AR-1 (Agricultural, Residential - 1 du/Acre) and from I(Institutional) to
AR-1 (Agricultural, Residential - 1 du/Acre) to be consistent with the original
designations of the property prior to the 1990 scrivener's error.
2. On February 21, 2013, the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission held a
public hearing on the petition, of which due notice was published in the St. Lucie News
Tribune and recommended that the Board of County Commissioners approve the
change in zoning to AR-1 (Agricultural, Residential - 1 du/Acre).
3. On June 18, 2013, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida,
held a public hearing of which due notice was published in the St. Lucie News Tribune.
4. The proposed change in zoning satisfies the requirements of Section 11.06.03 of the
St. Lucie County Land Development Code and is consistent with the goals, objectives,
and policies of the St. Lucie County Comprehensive Plan.
5. The proposed change in zoning is consistent with the existing and proposed use of
property in the surrounding area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
A. The proposed amendments to the Official Zoning Atlas for five parcels totaling 14.61
acres (M.O.L.) of privately owned parcels from AG-5 (Agricultural - 1 du/5 acres) to
AR-1 (Agricultural, Residential - 1 du/Acre) and from I(Institutional) to AR-1
(Agricultural, Residential - 1 du/Acre) to be consistent with the original designations of
the property prior to the 1990 scrivener's error (for property depicted in Exhibit "A" is
approved).
B. The Planning and Development Services Director is hereby authorized and directed to
cause the change to be made on the Official Zoning Atlas of St. Lucie County, Florida,
and to make notation of reference to the date of adoption of this Resolution.
