PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION; APPROVING THE m ~
ASSESSMENT ROLL; CONFIRMING THE PRELIMINARY ° ~
ASSESSMENT RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida has
enacted Chapter 1-9, Code of Ordinances and Compiled Laws of St. Lucie County (the
"Ordinance"), which authorizes the imposition of annual Solid Waste Service Assessments
for Solid Waste collection, disposal and administrative services, facilities or programs
against certain Assessed Property within St. Lucie County;
WHEREAS, the imposition of a Solid Waste Service Assessment for Solid Waste
collection, disposal and administrative services, facilities or programs for each Fiscal Year is
an equitable and efficient method of allocating and apportioning Solid Waste Costs among
parcels of Assessed Property;
WHEREAS, on September 14, 2004, the Board adopted Resolution No. 04-201 which
authorized the imposition of an assessment program for Solid Waste collection, disposal and
administrative services, facilities or programs within the County Urban Services Area using
the tax bill collection method commencing with the 2004 Fiscal Year;
WHEREAS, Landowner(s) who own property within the unincorporated St. Lucie
County but not within the County Urban Service Area desire to consent and agree to the
imposition of special assessment against their property; and
WHEREAS, the assessment will be set pursuant to Article V Collection of Solid
Waste and Recyclable Materials of the St. Lucie County Code and Compiled Laws and
Resolution No. 11-108 and 11-109 or any other preliminary assessment resolutions and final
assessment resolutions adopted there under which establishes the annual rated special
assessment for Solid Waste Service;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. This resolution is adopted pursuant to Chapter 1-9 of the Code of Ordinances and
Compiled Laws of St. Lucie County, Florida, Resolution No. 04-201; Article VIII,
Sectionl(f), Florida Constitution; sections 125.01 and 125.69, Florida Statutes; and
other applicable provisions of law.
2. The County Administrator is hereby authorized to Consent to Special Assessment
for solid waste collection and sign any necessary documents.
WHEREAS, the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners desires to
authorize the St. Lucie County Administrator to agree to the Consent to Special Assessment
for solid waste collection and to sign any necessary document.
3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
