A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 11, 2014 AS
"9/11 MEMORIAL BLOOD DRIVE DAY" IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. The tragedy of September 11, 2001 has affected us all and will continue to affect this
country and this county. The people we lost should never be forgotten.
2. A positive and community oriented commemoration will be accomplished through a
Memorial Service and Blood Drive on September 11, 2014 at the Port St. Lucie Civic
Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
3. The Memorial Service will be held from 8:30 am to 9:30 am and the Blood Drive will be
held from 7:45 am to 7:00 pm.
4. The commemoration will be organized by Crary Buchannan: Attorneys at Law, the Palm
Beach area chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and One Blood.
5. September 11, 2014 will be a commemoration of a tragic day, the people that were lost,
and the good that a community can do in remembering and giving blood to those that
need aid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby proclaim September 11, 2014 as "9/11 MEMORIAL BLOOD
DRIVE DAY" in St. Lucie County, Florida.
2. This Board invites all citizens of St. Lucie County to participate in this memorial event.
