AND HIS EFFORTS FOR BRINGING FLORIDA COAST SPRING TRAINING BASEBALL (VINNY BALL) AND MAJOR ECONOMIC IMPACT TO ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA FOR 35 YEARS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. Since 1980, Vincent Carlesi, Jr. has been bringing Florida Coast Spring Training baseball to St. Lucie County, Florida. 2. Every year, from February to early April, the baseball camps have brought thousands of teams, coaches and families from colleges, universities and high schools nationwide to St. Lucie County. 3. The baseball camps have resulted in significant positive local economic impact to St. Lucie County annually. 4. In 2015, St. Lucie County added two new baseball fields, which will result in bringing 130 teams and an estimated economic impact of $4.5 million. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. This Board does hereby recognize Mr. Vincent Carlesi, Jr. for his efforts to bring Florida Coast Spring Training baseball and major economic impact to St. Lucie County, Florida for the past 35 years. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall be presented to Mr. Carlesi, Jr. as a token of this Board's appreciation. PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 17th day of February 2015.
