A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF RURAL BUSINESS ENTERPRISE
GRANT APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AND ASSURANCES TO
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE; ACCEPTING THE GRANT
AWARD IF APPROVED; AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF GRANT
FUNDS PURSUANT TO THE GRANT AWARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, is authorized to apply for and
accept grants and make purchases and expend funds pursuant to grant awards from the United States Department
of Agriculture.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This resolution applies to the Rural Business Enterprise Grant Program under Section 310 B of the
Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act.
2. The submission of a Rural Business Enterprise Grant application to conduct a biofuels feedstock
feasibility study, supporting documents and assurances to the United States Department of Agriculture is approved.
3. The total amount on the requested grant is ninety-seven and 00/100 dollars ($97,000.00).
4. This Board authorizes the Chair and/or the County Administrator, as appropriate under County
purchasing policies and procedures, to execute all necessary documents related to this matter subject to the review
and approval of the County Attorney as to legal form and correctness. In the absence of the Chair, the Vice Chair is
authorized to sign on behalf of the County.
5. This resolution shall take effect on the date of adoption.
