A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR OR
DESIGNEE TO WAIVE PROVISIONS OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OR THE
LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE AS TO CATEGORY III WETLANDS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for St. Lucie County, Florida (the "Board") has made
the following determinations:
1. Policy 6.1.14.4 of the Comprehensive Plan provides that no alteration of a Category III
wetland may be allowed unless no reasonable alternative exists; and
2. Policy 6.1.14.4 of the Comprehensive Plan provides the provisions shall only be waived
following the review and approval of the Board or their designee; and
3. Policy 6.1.14.1 of the Comprehensive Plan defines Category III wetlands as isolated wetlands
less than five (5) acres that do not qualify as Category I or II wetlands.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE
COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Staff recommend approval of the resolution, which provides the following:
1. The Board does hereby delegate the authority to the County Administrator or
designee to waive provisions of the Comprehensive Plan as to Category III wetlands in a manner set forth in
the Land Development Code.
2. This resolution shall take effect on the date of its adoption.
