HomeMy WebLinkAbout16-142RESOLUTION 16-142 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE MILLAGE RATES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016-2017 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determination: On September 8, 2016, after TRIM notices were mailed to all property owners pursuant to Section 200.069, Florida Statutes, the Board of County Commissioners (sitting as the Board of County Commissioners, the Mosquito Control Board, and the Erosion Control Board) held a public hearing to consider adopting the tentative millage rates for fiscal year 2016-2017 and adopted the tentative millage rates. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: A. The following are hereby adopted as the tentative millage rates for fiscal year 2016-2017: FY 17 Tentative Millage Fund Name I Rate General Fund 4.1077 Fine & Forfeiture Fund 3.2838 Port I&S Fund 0.0000 MUNICIPAL SERVICES TAXING UNITS Unincorporated Services Fund 0.3840 Drainage Maintenance MSTU 0.3497 Law Enforcement MSTU 0.5103 Parks MSTU Fund 0.2313 SLC Public Transit MSTU 0.1269 MOSQUITO CONTROL DISTRICT Mosquito Fund 0.2164 EROSION DISTRICT Erosion Control Operating Fund 0.0925 Aggregate Millage Rate 8.5877 (excludes interest and sinking fund levies on voter approved indebtedness) B. The proposed aggregate millage rate to be levied of 8.5877 is higher than the roll -back rate of 8.1733 as computed pursuant to Section 200.065(1), Florida Statutes by 5.07%.
