A RESOLUTION OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO PROCEED WITH THE
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE MCCARTY ROAD BRIDGE
PROJECT (FDOT FINANCIAL PROJECT ID 434364-1); AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, FDOT and St. Lucie County are desirous of having FDOT construct certain
improvements more particularly described as Financial Project ID 434360-1, which involves McCarty
Road (CR 712A) Bridge; hereinafter referred to as the "Project", as more particularly described in
Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, a resolution from the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County,
Florida ("Board") authorizing the Florida Department of Transportation to proceed with the project
is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST.
LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. The Board authorizes the Florida Department of Transportation to proceed
with the construction of the McCarty Road Bridge Project as described in Exhibit "A". The Board
understands that the McCarty Road Bridge will be totally closed to traffic during construction and
that there will be a detour for traffic. The Board endorses the Department delivering the project on
their behalf.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 6th day of September, 2016.

Exhibit "A"
PROJECT SCOPE
All of the improvements are to be completed by FDOT within the County's existing 66 feet of right-
of-way.
Typical Roadway Cross Section:
The roadway typical approaching the bridge transitions from single lane two-way roadway with
unpaved shoulders to a two-way two lane roadway with paved shoulders. Along either side of the
roadway are swales that collect and convey the drainage runoff.
Typical Bridge Cross Section:
The bridge typical cross section includes 2 twelve foot lanes with 2 % foot shoulders. On the east
side of the bridge a 6 foot 2 inch sidewalk runs in front of the traffic railing. The bridge cross slope
is 2% toward the east.
Signing and Pavement Markings:
The signing and pavement marking, in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control
Devices.
Structures:
The project includes gravity and retaining walls along corners of the bridge.
Drainage:
The drainage system includes a French drainage system north and south of bridge which will
connect to existing Ten -Mile Creek outfall.
Permits:
The FDOT will acquire all permits for the project in the County's name.
