RESOLUTION NO. 2017-2
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE DUAL NAME OF
STATE ROAD AIA AND ATLANTIC BEACH BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determination:
1. Section 336.05(1), Florida Statutes, authorizes the Board to name and rename
streets and roads under its jurisdiction.
2. On December 9, 2016, the Florida Department of Transportation indicated they
had no objection to the dual naming of State Road A1A as long as the County provided them with
a recorded Resolution.
3. On January 10, 2017, the County designated the portion of State Road A1A from
Shorewinds Drive north to the Indian River County line to be dual named State Road AIA and
Atlantic Beach Boulevard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby designate the dual naming of State Road AIA and Atlantic
Beach Boulevard from Shorewinds Drive north to the Indian River County line.
2. The St. Lucie County Road and Bridge Manager is hereby directed to erect dual
designated signs State Road A1A and Atlantic Beach Boulevard from Shorewinds Drive north to
the Indian River County line.
3. The County is hereby directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the Florida
Department of Transportation, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the North Beach Association of Saint
Lucie County, Inc., appropriate utilities, the U.S. Postal Service, the Property Appraiser, the
Supervisor of Elections, the Sheriff of St. Lucie County, and further directed to provide a copy of
this Resolution to the St. Lucie County Road and Bridge Manager.
