A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST.
LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT
APPLICATION OT THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
RURAL DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT TO ASSIST IN THE PURCHASE OF
EQUIPMENT FOR THE SUNSHINE KITCHEN AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. The County and the Treasure Coast Education, Research and Development
Authority are developing a food incubator facility to be known as the "Sunshine Kitchen" and are
seeking grant funds from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Block
Grant Program in order to purchase equipment for the Sunshine Kitchen (the "Project").
2. The USDA Rural Development Block Grant Program has requested that the Board
adopt a Resolution to accompany the grant application for a total estimated project cost not to
exceed $175,000.00.
3. The Board should authorize and approve execution of the Resolution with the
USDA Rural Development Block Grant for the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. The Board hereby makes application to the United States Department of
Agriculture fora Rural Development Block Grant in an amount not to exceed $175,000.00 for the
Project and will accept the terms and conditions set forth in the grant application for the Project.
2. The Board authorizes the Chairman, or the Vice Chairman in the absence of the
Chairman, and/or the County Administrator to sign all documents related to the grant application
and award.
3. The Board agrees to contribute $17,500.00 towards the cost of the Project.
4. The Board agrees to comply with the applicable provisions of 7 CFR 4280, Part E
in conjunction with the grant award for the Project.
5. The Board is legally authorized to apply for and carry out the purposes of the grant
for the Project.
