A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSION OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN EASTERN END FISHING PIER AND IMPROVEMENTS TO
THE NORTH CAUSEWAY BOAT RAMP PARK AS PART OF THE STATE ROAD A1A NORTH
CAUSEWAY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") will be constructing the
State Road (SR) A1A North Causeway Bridge Replacement Project (FPID# 4299362); and
WHEREAS, the SR A1A North Causeway Bridge Replacement Project ("Project"), along
with the proposed construction of the fishing pier and improvements to the North Causeway
Boat Ramp will be located in the county boundaries of the St. Lucie County ("The County"); and
WHEREAS, the Improvements ("Improvements") include replacing the boat ramp, adding
a fish cleaning station, replacing the restroom facility, adding new parking and drainage, and
constructing a fishing pier; and
WHEREAS, the County has identified the Florida Inland Navigational District (FIND) Grant
to assist in funding for the Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the County, through correspondence with FDOT has requested the agency's
partnership in acquiring the FIND Grant by FDOT being the lead applicant for the Improvements;
and
WHEREAS, after completion, the Improvements may be transferred by FDOT to the
County; and
WHEREAS, FDOT requested that the County adopt a resolution expressing support of the
Improvements as part of the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSION OF ST. LUCIE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT:
1. The County Commission supports the Improvements as part of the Project.
2. This Resolution becomes effective immediately upon its adoption.
