LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR MONIES COLLECTED PURSUANT TO SECTION 847.0141(6), FLORIDA STATUTES TO BE COLLECTED TO FUND CYBER -SAFETY TRAINING FOR MINORS; PROVIDING FOR CREATION OF A SEPARATE CYBER -SAFETY FUND; PROVIDING FOR ACCOUNTING TOTHE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING PROVISIONS, SEVERABILITY AND APPLICABILITY; PROVIDING FOR FILING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION AND CODIFICATION WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 847.0141(6) Florida Statutes, 80% of all civil penalties received under that section shall be remitted to the Board of County Commissioners to provide training on cyber - safety to minors; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that the adoption of this ordinance creating a fund for the monies is in the best interest of the citizens of St. Lucie County, Florida, and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: PART A. ARTICLE II - COURT COSTS AND FEES Division 1- Generally of the Code of Ordinances of St. Lucie County, Florida is amended as follows: Section 16.30 CYBER -SAFETY TRAINING All monies collected for cyber -safety training from civil penalties received by a juvenile court pursuant to Section 847.0141(6) shall be set aside by the Clerk in a special and separate account titled "Cyber -Safety Training Fund" to be used exclusively to provide training on cyber -safety for minors. PART B. FILING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE. The Clerk be and is hereby directed forthwith to send a certified copy of this ordinance to the Bureau of Administration Code and Laws, Department of State, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida 32304. PART C. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take effect upon filing with the Department of State. Underlined passages are added. 1 Struck through passages are deleted. 1. PART D PART E. ADOPTION. Provisions of this ordinance shall be incorporated in the St. Lucie County Code and Compiled Laws, and the word "ordinance" may be changed to "section", "article", or other appropriate word, and the sections of this ordinance may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such intentions; provided, however, that parts B through E shall not be codified.
