LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA; AMENDING SECTION 1-19.3-60 "INELIGIBLE BUSINESS OR INDUSTRY"; PROVIDING FOR FILING, CODIFICATION, ADOPTION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, on October 6, 1992, the Board of County Commissioners For St. Lucie County, (the "Board") adopted Ordinance No. 92-24 which established the Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption in St. Lucie County. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 92-24 took effect upon a majority vote in the November 3, 1992 election. WHEREAS, the Board wishes to amend Section 1-19.3-60 to provide that any business or industry in violation of any federal, state, or local law or regulation is ineligible to receive an exemption. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: ARTICLE V. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AD VALOREM TAX EXEMPTIONS PART A. SECTION 1-19.3-60 OF ARTICLE V "ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AD VALOREM TAX EXEMPTIONS" IS HEREBY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: Section 1-16.3-60. Ineligible business or industry. Any business or industry in violation of any federal, state, or local law or regulation I tet! matters such as eir, water, amd moise pollution is ineligible to receive an exemption The Board may use this criteria to deny a request for an exemption or to revoke an exemption previously granted The Board may in its discretion, determine that a business is eligible notwithstanding that the business is in violation. PART B. FILING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE. The Clerk be and is hereby directed forthwith to send a certified copy of this ordinance to the Bureau of Administrative Code and Laws, Department of State, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida 32304.
