HomeMy WebLinkAbout18-126j 1 RESOLUTION 18-126 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PARKING REGULATIONS ON THE COUNTY PROPERTY LOCATED AT 656 N. 2ND STREET WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. The Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida enacted Ordinance No. 82-10, which provided for the adoption of regulations for properties and facilities owned or leased by St. Lucie County, and also for the operation and parking of motor vehicles pursuant to Section 316.006, Florida Statutes. 2. 656 N. 2nd Street is .77 acre area owned and managed by the County for boat trailer parking overflow from the Black Pearl Boat Ramp. The property was purchased with fifty percent (50 %) funding each from Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) and Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP). The County agreed that the site should be dedicated for the public use. The County has received complaints that a business is parking their and /or their customers' trailers on the property. The County received a copy of a Notice of Violation issued by the City of Fort Pierce. 3. The Board of County Commissioners has determined that a business is parking their and/or their customers' trailers at the lot located at 656 N. 2nd Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. Only the public using the Black Pearl Boat Ramp to park their boats are authorized to park in the lot located at 656 N. 2"d Street in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 82-10 and Section 316.006, Florida Statutes. 2. St. Lucie County is hereby authorized to erect signs in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation regulations sufficient to notify the public of the parking restrictions hereby established. 3. The County Administrator is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Sheriff of St. Lucie County, the City of Fort Pierce Police Department and the City of Fort Pierce Code Enforcement Department.
