A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW TURNPIKE INTERCHANGE AT MIDWAY ROAD IN
FORT PIERCE, FLAND IMPROVEMENTS AT THE OKEECHOBEE ROAD INTERCHANGE IN ST. LUCIE
COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has made the following determinations:
1. The Florida Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) is currently performing a PD&E (Project Development
& Environment) study for turnpike facilities from Jupiter to Fort Pierce.
2. The Turnpike is planning to widen from a four lane facility to an eight lane facility.
3. The FTE is evaluating several locations for new interchanges within the study limits.
4. The County support the development of a new turnpike interchange at Midway Road.
5. The County also supports improvements at the Okeechobee Road interchange.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Lucie County Board of County
Commissioners:
1. This Board does hereby proclaim its support for improvements to the Turnpike
Interchanges.
2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
3. The County Administrator is directed to send a copy of this resolution to the County's state
and federal legislative delegation.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 13th day of November 2018.
