A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY EROSION DISTRICT CREATING
A NEW ZONE "E" WITHIN THE EROSION DISTRICT TO
INCLUDE ALL OF THE LANDS AND REAL ESTATE
WITHIN THE DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE
LEVY OF AD VALOREM TAXES TO FUND THE
DISTRICT'S SHARE OF A PROJECT FOR BEACH
RENOURISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE; PROVIDING
THAT THE NEWLY CREATED ZONE "E" MAY BE USED
TO FUND SUBSEQUENT APPROPRIATE EROSION
DISTRICT PROJECTS; CONFIRMING THAT PREVIOUSLY
CREATED ZONES ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THIS
RESOLUTION AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 67-2001, Laws of Florida, as amended by Chapter 97-
354, Laws of Florida, the "St. Lucie County Erosion District Act", the Board of Commissioners
of the St. Lucie County Erosion District (the "Board") is authorized to create by resolution new
zones within the Erosion District for the purpose of the levy of ad valorem taxes within the new
zones to fund the cost of Erosion District projects in proportion to the percentage of benefit from
the project determined by the Board for the new zone; and
WHEREAS, the Board intends to levy an ad valorem tax to fund the Erosion District's
share of the cost of the United States Army Corps of Engineers Fort Pierce, Florida Shore
Protection Project to renourish and maintain a stretch of St. Lucie County beach extending south
from the Fort Pierce Inlet for a distance of approximately 1.3 miles (the "Project Area"); and
WHEREAS, substantially all of the beach within the Project Area is either publicly
owned or easily accessible to the public; and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the beach within the Project Area provides
recreation and tourism related economic benefits to citizens of St. Lucie County and therefore
the renourishment and maintenance of that beach provides real and substantial benefits to all
lands and real property within the Erosion District's boundaries.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DETERMINED AND RESOLVED BY THE BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY EROSION DISTRICT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to Section 8.(4) of the St. Lucie County Erosion District Act, the
Board hereby creates a new zone within the Erosion District to be known as Zone E for the
purpose of the levy and collection of ad valorem taxes within the Erosion District to fund the

District's share of the cost of the United States Army Corps of Engineers Fort Pierce, Florida
Shore Protection Project (the "Project").
Section 2. Zone E shall include all of the lands and real estate within the boundaries
of the St. Lucie County Erosion District.
Section 3. The lands and real estate within Zone E will receive 100% of the benefits
of the Project.
Section 4. Zone E may also be used for future levies of ad valorem taxes to fund the
cost of Erosion District projects for which the Board determines that the lands and real estate
with Zone E will receive 100% of the benefits of such projects.
Section 4. Nothing herein shall be construed to amend or abolish existing Zones A,
B, C, and D as previously created under the St. Lucie County Erosion District Act.
Section 5. This resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
