A RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE DEPARTMENT OF
FINANCIAL SERVICES, DIVISION OF WORKERS'
COMPENSATION, THE USE OF AN OFFICE LOCATED AT 3071
OLEANDER AVENUE, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA, AS FURTHER
DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the Department of Financial Services, Division of Workers' Compensation (
"DFS"), has requested the use of space at 3071 Oleander Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL , as further
described in Exhibit "A" attached, (the "Site") for a satellite office; and
WHEREAS, Section 125.38, Florida Statutes requires that any state agency wishing to use
any real or personal property that may be owned by any county or this state or by its board of
county commissioners, for public or community interest and welfare, may apply to the Board of
County Commissioners for a conveyance or lease of such property; and
WHEREAS, Section 125.38 further states that if it is determined by the Board of County
Commissioners that such property is required for such use and is not needed for County
purposes, the Board can allow the use of such property; a!-,d
WHEREAS, DFS and the County desire to make the subject property available to DFS as a
satellite office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. The Board does hereby grant permission to use the site for a satellite office. A
description showing the location of the Site leased to DFFS is attached hereto and made a part
hereof as Exhibit "A."
2. The term of this Agreement shall begin on September 8, 2015 and terminate on
September 7, 2020. Upon mutual written agreement, the parties may extend the Contract for
one (1) additional one-year term, pursuant to the same terms and conditions. Either party may
terminate this Agreement without cause upon thirty (30' days prior written notice to the other
party.
