A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO APPROVE
ADVANCE PAYMENTS TO CERTAIN CONSTITUTIONAL
OFFICERS TO THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has
made the following determinations:
1. The annual budget adopted by the Board includes funds for the operation of
the St. Lucie County Sheriff, St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections and the St. Lucie County
Tax Collector.
2. Each of the above -referenced constitutional officers is authorized to make a
written request for advance payments beginning October 15t in order to fund their respective
operations upon the start of the fiscal year.
3. Given the short time between the adoption of the annual budget and October
11t, it would be more efficient to delegate to the County Administrator the authority to
approve the request for advance payments upon receipt of the written request from the
respective constitutional officer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florida, as follows:
A. The Board of County Commissioners hereby delegates to the County Administrator its
authority under Section 30.50, Florida Statutes, to approve advance payments to the
St. Lucie County Sheriff. Such approval shall be subject to the receipt of a written
request for such payment in accordance with Section 30.50, Florida Statutes (2018).
B. The Board of County Commissioners hereby delegates to the County Administrator its
authority under Section 129.202, Florida Statutes (2018), to approve advance payments
to the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections. Such approval shall be subject to the
receipt of a written request for such payment in accordance with Section 129.202,
Florida Statutes (2018).
C. The Board of County Commissioners hereby delegates to the County Administrator its
authority under Section 192.102, Florida Statutes (2018), to approve advance payments
to the St. Lucie County Tax Collector. Such approval shall be subject to the receipt of
a written request for such payment in accordance with Section192.102, Florida Statutes
(2018).
D. This resolution shall take effect on the date of adoption.
E. After motion and second, the vote on this Resolution was as follows:
