A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY EROSION DISTRICT
STATING ITS INTENT TO USE THE UNIFORM METHOD
OF COLLECTING NON -AD VALOREM SPECIAL
ASSESSMENTS LEVIED BY THE PROPOSED SOUTH
HUTCHINSON ISLAND II BEACH AND DUNE
RESTORATION SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT;
DESCRIBING THE AREA SUBJECT TO THE
ASSESSMENT; STATING A NEED FOR THE LEVY;
PROVIDING FOR MAILING THE RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the St. Lucie County Erosion District,
(the "Board") is contemplating the creation of the South Hutchinson Island 2 Beach and
Dune Restoration Special Assessment District (SAD) to fund the cost of a project to
provide beach and dune restoration improvements to properties within the boundaries of
the proposed South Hutchinson Island Beach and Dune Restoration 2 SAD (the
"Project") in St. Lucie County; and
WHEREAS, the Board, as the governing body of the SAD, intends to use the
uniform method for collecting non -ad valorem special assessments to fund the cost of
the Project as authorized by Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes because this method
will allow the special assessments to be collected annually commencing in November
2020, in the same manner as provided for ad valorem taxes; and
WHEREAS, on October 22, 2019, the Board held a duly advertised public
hearing to consider the adoption of this resolution, proof of publication of this hearing is
attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
St. Lucie County, Erosion District, as follows:
Section 1: Commencing with the 2020-2021 Fiscal Year and with the ad
valorem tax bill issued in November 2020, the Board intends to use the uniform method
of collecting non -ad valorem assessments authorized in Section 197.3632, Florida
Statutes for collecting non -ad valorem assessments levied by the proposed South
Hutchinson Island 2 Beach and Dune Restoration SAD to fund the cost of a project to
provide beach and dune restoration improvements to properties within the boundaries of
the proposed South Hutchinson Island 2 Beach and Dune Restoration SAD. A
description of the boundaries of the real property within the proposed SAD and subject
to the levy is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "B".
Section 2: The Board hereby determines that the levy of the assessments are
necessary to fund the cost of the Project.
Section 3: Upon adoption, the County Attorney is hereby directed to send a
copy of this resolution by United States mail to the Florida Department of Revenue, and
the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser and Tax Collector.
Section 4: This Resolution shall be effective upon adoption.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Board of Commissioners (the "Board") of the St. Lucie
County Erosion District (the `District"f, hereby provides notice,
=pursuant to ,Section 197.3632. Florida Statutes and Chapter
409, Laws of Florida, of its intent to use the uniform
method of collecting rton-ad valorem assessments commenc-
ing In November, 2020, for assessmentslo be levied within the
area known as South tiutchinsdin Island to partially fund the
cost of providing beach and dune restoration improvements.
The Board will consfder the adoption of a resolution stating Its.
intent to use the uniform method of collecting such assess•
mants as all ttsrtized by Sectiois 197,3632, Florida Statutes, at a
public hearing on October 22, 2019 at 9.00 a,m. of as soon
thereafter may be heart!, in the Commisslon Chambers, 2300
Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida. Such resolution will stale
the steed for the levy and wig contain at legal description of,
the veal property sub'eet to the levy. A Copy of the proposed
form of resolution, t`nctuding a legal description of the teat
property subject to Iha. levy, is on file at the Olfica of the
County Attorney located at 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce,

October 22nd public hearing.
In the event any person decides to apppeal any decision by the
Board with respect to any matter relatf to the consideration
of the resolution at the above-referericed public hearing. a re-
cord of the proceeding may be needed and in such an event,
such person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the
public hearing is trade, which record includes the testimony
and evidence on which the appeal is to be based.
