LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA CONGRATULATING THE NEW YORK METS ON THEIR 32ND ANNIVERSARY IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY AND WELCOMING THEM BACK TO CLOVER PARK FOR SPRING TRAINING IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY FLORIDA IN 2020 AND FOR THE NEXT 25 YEARS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. Clover Park is a baseball stadium located in Port St. Lucie, Florida. On June 4, 1986, the Thomas J. White Development Corporation, Doubleday Sports, inc. and St. Lucie County entered into a Facility Use Agreement for the use of spring training for the New York Mets and minor league spring training activities at the stadium. 2. On June 2, 1987, this Board adopted Resolution No. 87-31, recognizing the Stadium, which was built in time forthe 1988 season, holds 7,160 people, and is the Spring training home of the New York Mets. 3. The New York Mets will open their 2020 Spring Training schedule on Saturday, February 22, 2020 and will celebrate their 32nd Anniversary in St. Lucie County, Florida. 4. In cooperation with the County, the Mets have completed a $57 million renovation project for the 2020 Spring Training Season with improvements that include new seats, newconcessions, a newelevator and additional outfield areas for spectators. 5. As part of the renovation, the Mets have agreed to continue using the Stadium for the next 25 years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. This Board does hereby congratulate the New York Mets on their 32nd Anniversary in St. Lucie County, Florida. 2. This Board further welcomes the New York Mets back to St. Lucie Countyfor Spring Training 2020 and lookforward to the next 25 years. PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 215L day of February 2020.
