I SITUATION SUMMARY I
A State of Local Emergency was declared in St. Lucie County on 311712020; the Governor of Florida
issued a State of Emergency on 3/16/2020; the President of the United States issued a Federal
Disaster Declaration on 3/13/2020.
As of March 21, 2020 one (1) case of COVID-19 has been reported in St. Lucie County. Local State
of Emergencies have been declared in 64 Florida Counties, two (2) Counties are considering
declaring Local States of Emergencies and one (1) has not declared.
Forty-eight (48) Counties are at a Level 2 (Partial) EOC activation, one (1) is at a Level 1 (Full)
activation and eighteen (18) are not activated. The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is
tracking 3,757 active resource requests from counties. At this time, all public schools are closed
statewide. Currently, there are no statewide curfews or mandated County government closures.
After the Local State of Emergency was declared the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was
activated at 0800 hours on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. EOC Command Staff developed the battle
rhythm, developing messaging and participating in conferences calls with the State EOC and with
local partners. ESFs identified unmet needs, and requests for medical equipment, medical supplies,
cleaning supplies and laptop computers have been logged in WebEOC. Cleaning and medical
supplies are on back order at Florida Division of Emergency Management. There are concerns that
contingency ordering methods may need to be employed.

High recommendation is given to practice protective measures for employees, essential functions,
and alternate work capabilities (e.g., telework, alternate schedules). For detailed information on
