HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/22/20 - Situation Report No. 5G� "v'walw Emergency Operations Center t ° Situation Report #5 Public Safety Department Division of Emergency Management EVENT/INCIDENT EOC Activation Operational Period COVID-19 Level 2 (Partial Activation) March 22, 2020 0800 March 23, 2020 0800 Date: March 22, 2020 Time: 0800 HRS SITUATION SUMMARY A State of Local Emergency was declared in St. Lucie County on 3/17/2020; the Governor of Florida issued a State of Emergency on 3/1612020; the President of the United States issued a Federal Disaster Declaration on 3/13/2020. As of March 22, 2020 two (2) cases of COVID-19 has been reported in St. Lucie County. Local State of Emergencies have been declared in 65 Florida Counties, one (1) County is considering declaring a Local State of Emergency and one (1) has not declared. Forty-nine (49) Counties are at a Level 2 (Partial) EOC activation, one (1) is at a Level 1 (Full) activation and seventeen (17) are not activated. The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is tracking 4,701 active resource requests from counties. At this time, all public schools are closed statewide. Currently, three Florida Counties have implemented partial curfews. Currently one County's government is fully closed, 37 County Governments are implementing some government closures and 29 County governments have not implanted any government closures. After the Local State of Emergency was declared the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated at 0800 hours on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. EOC Command Staff developed the battle rhythm, developing messaging and participating in conference calls with the State EOC and with local partners. ESFs identified unmet needs, and requests for medical equipment, medical supplies, cleaning supplies and laptop computers have been logged in WebEOC. Cleaning and medical supplies are on back order at Florida Division of Emergency Management. Currently, the EOC has been communicating with the County's approximate 230 Healthcare Facilities as well as the County's first response agencies. Currently approximately 5,500 items for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been ordered through the State's instance of WebEOC. There are concerns that contingency ordering methods may need to be employed. Please refer to the additional resources listed below for information specific to COVID 19.
