HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/29/20 - Situation Report No. 12��I_u LLI CLL Situation Report Emergency Operations Center #� 2 Public Safety Department l 1. .-F.`-, Division of Emergency Management EVENT/INCIDENT EOC Activation Operational Period COVID-19 Level 2 (Partial Activation) March 29, 2020 0800 March 30, 2020 0800 Date: March 29, 2020 Time: 0800 HRS SITUATION SUMMARY A State of Local Emergency was declared in St. Lucie County on 3/17/2020; the Governor of Florida issued a State of Emergency on 3/16/2020; the President of the United States issued a Federal Disaster Declaration on 3/13/2020. As of March 29, 2020, twenty-three (23) cases of COVID-19 have been reported in St. Lucie County (SLC). Two (2) Deaths have been reported due to COVID-19 within SLC. Local State of Emergencies have been declared in all sixty-seven (67) Florida Counties, forty-seven (47) Counties are a Level 2 (Partial) Emergency Operation Center (EOC) activation, eleven (11) are at a Level 1 (Full) activation and nine (9) are not activated. The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is tracking 8620 resource requests. Currently, five (5) Florida Counties have implemented partial curfews. Currently, three (3) County governments are fully closed, forty-six (46) County Governments are implementing partial government closures and sixteen (16) County Governments have not implemented any government closures. Two (2) Counties are not reporting closure activity. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated at 0800 hours on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Medical and cleaning supplies remain on backorder with the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM). The State EOC has received an overwhelming amount of requests, therefore, priority will be given to counties with the greater number of COVID-19 cases. In preparation for future medical needs, St. Lucie County continues to support the Department of Health in identifying potential alternative care sites. The County is disseminating information regarding COVID-19 and County services to the public through "Alert St Lucie", Social Media, SLC's Website and Press Briefings. On March 27, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Orders 20-86 & 20-87. Executive Order 20-86 directs all persons who enter the State of Florida from an area with substantial community spread, including Louisiana, to isolate or quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry or the duration of presence in the State of Florida, whichever is shorter. Executive Order 20-87 orders all parties engaged in vacation rental properties to suspend vacation rental operations. Vacation rentals are prohibited from making new reservations and accepting new guests for the duration of this order. The State is actively working to acquire testing resources, including new rapid tests. The State continues to evaluate industry operations such as hair & beauty salons, spas and similar facilities. As of Saturday, March 28,, 2020, the County, in coordination with the Sheriff's Office and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), continues to evaluate boat launch sites and boating activities to ensure compliance with State issued, and social distancing, guidelines.
