Good Morning EDC Partners
Governor DeSantis executed an order suspending the state’s documentary stamp tax on small
business loans provided under the CARES Act. Click here to view Executive Order 20-95.
Over the past few weeks, local employers have shared having to make some very difficult
decisions with regard to employee furloughs and layoffs, as well as shared concerns for
employees seeking unemployment assistance. Pursuant to the Governor’s Order 20-93 last
week, the Department of Economic Opportunity has released a new paper unemployment
application that has been developed in English, Creole and Spanish. Claimants may now
print, complete and mail the application to: Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, PO
Box 5350, Tallahassee, FL 32314-5350.
Please feel free to share this link for those who may need access to the paper
application: http://www.floridajobs.org/Reemployment-Assistance-Service-
Center/reemployment-assistance/claimants/rapaperapplication. The online employment
portal is also available as it continues to receive technology upgrades, as well as enhanced
staff for the unemployment assistance hotline.
