Good Morning EDC Partners Yesterday, we heard a glimmer of hope in the voices of residents seeking unemployment benefits. Governor DeSantis and the Department of Economic Opportunity rolled out new technology upgrades the other night and we are hearing some positive feedback from the community in their ability to submit unemployment applications via:  A new online application portal: https://fldeo-flwork- prod1.pegacloud.net/prweb/app/default/tHGV_g6FQZMSYakWUervaQ%28%28*/!STAN DARD  A new mobile online portal: https://fldeo-flwork- prod1.pegacloud.net/prweb/app/default/tHGV_g6FQZMSYakWUervaQ%28%28*/!STAN DARD?fbclid=IwAR0TiiMf3GiQKYhhdsevDuOlx36Yc1Gt434X1h2Dtrr4XTz_X_btLRw0b44  A new paper application process where applications are available and sent via complimentary overnight FedEx to the state: FedEx Office, Print & Ship Center – 260 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd, Port St. Lucie (9 am to 6 pm) Over the past three weeks, more than 472,000 unemployment claims have been filed in Florida as compared to 326,000 claims in all of 2019. Employees who have been furloughed or laid off and have been struggling to apply for unemployment compensation will hopefully be seeing some relief coming their way soon. The Small Business Administration, in consultation with the Treasury Department, issued a CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program FAQ on April 8 to clarify common questions from both applicants and lenders regarding the program.
