A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 2, 2020
AS "MANUFACTURING DAY" AND THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2020
AS "MANUFACTURING MONTH" IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. October 2, 2020 was Manufacturing Day, the kick-off of Manufacturing Month, to
inspire the next generation of manufacturers, and educate the public at large on the
importance of the role manufacturers play in our daily lives and the growing skill
shortage despite the high volume of job openings in the sector.
2. The Treasure Coast Manufacturers Association, the Economic Development Council
of St. Lucie County, among other entities, have established the "Ready to Work"
Boot Camps, with our educators at St. Lucie Public Schools, to increase awareness of
these career opportunities and to support school programs that provide the
educational pathways to obtain them.
3. The Board of County Commissioners commends and supports this important cause
and the organizations involved
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby proclaim October 2, 2020 as "Manufacturing Awareness
Day" and the month of October 2020 as "Manufacturing Awareness Month" in St.
Lucie County, Florida.
2. This Board does further urge all St. Lucie County citizens to join in recognizing the
value of our manufacturers and the importance they serve locally, nationally, and
our global economics.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 6th day October 2020.
