A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 08-060 BY PROVIDING FOR
REDUCED PERMIT FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY LAND
DEVELOPMENT CODE TO COVER THE COST OF VEGETATION REMOVAL
FEES, DUNE TRIMMING FEES AND DOCK OR MARINE REVIEW FEES IN THE
ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT IN ORDER TO RESPOND TO
THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND PROVIDING A SUNSET PROVISION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
WHEREAS, Section 163.3201, Florida Statutes, provides for the adoption and enforcement
of regulations on development activities based upon the Comprehensive Plan for St. Lucie County.
WHEREAS, on August 1, 1990, this Board enacted the St. Lucie County Land Development
Code to further implement the Comprehensive Plan for St. Lucie County, which calls for the
regulation of land development activities.
WHEREAS, Section 125.01, Florida Statutes, and the St. Lucie County Land Development
Code authorize this Board to establish a schedule of fees in order to cover the costs of technical
and administrative activities required pursuant to the St. Lucie County Land Development Code.
WHEREAS, Section 11.12.00 of the St. Lucie Land Development Code calls for the
establishment of a schedule of fees by the Board of County Commissioners.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners last amended the schedule of fees for
technical and administrative activities under the Land Development Code in 2008 pursuant to
Resolution No. 08-060.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to modify the County's fee to properly reflect the cost of
providing certain County services.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined it is appropriate to
temporarily modify the County's schedule of fees, including a 15% reduction, in order to respond
to the economic impact of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency; and
WHEREAS, the temporary modification of the County's schedule of fees will sunset within
365 days from the date of this approval.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners for St. Lucie County,
Florida:
1. The Schedule of Fees attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A" is
hereby adopted.
2. This Resolution shall take effect on October 1, 2020.

3. This Resolution shall sunset 365 days from the effective date of October 1, 2020 and
the fees shall revert to the previous schedule approved by Resolution No. 08-060
unless the Board takes action to extend this Resolution.
