A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE FAIRGROUNDS
SPECIAL EVENT CRITERIA AND APPLICATION ATTACHED
HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF AS"EXHIBIT A"
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. On August 1, 1990,the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida
adopted the St. Lucie County Land Development Code.
2. The Florida Legislature has provided local governments the authority to adopt
regulations designed to provide the public health safety and general welfare of its
citizenry.
3. The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners has determined that it is
in the public's best interest to adopt special event expositions in
institutional zoning on large tracts of land.
4. The St. Lucie County Fairgrounds is desiring to establish a Fairgrounds
Special Event Criteria and Application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. The Fairgrounds Special Event Criteria and Application attached as "Exhibit A" is
hereby approved.
2. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption.
After motion and second, the vote on this resolution was as follows:

St. Lucie County Amended Facility Use Policy
Fairgrounds Special Event Criteria
Special Events
1. Definition
a. A temporary activity that may include, but not be limited to carnivals, festivals,
trade shows, and auctions
2. Approval Process
a. The event shall be required to complete the Special Event Application and return
to the Fairgrounds staff.
b. Fairgrounds staff will determine if the event meets the necessary rules,
obligations, and insurance requirements for the event to be held at the
Fairgrounds.
c. Once staff approves the Event Application an estimate of fees will be provided to
the Event Coordinator.
d. To schedule the event, the Event Coordinator will sign the estimate and return it
to Fairgrounds staff. Fairgrounds staff will then process a contract with the Event
Coordinator.
3. Duration
a. A Special Event will exceed no more than 14 consecutive days unless prior
approval for a longer event is requested and approved during the Special Event
Application process.
4. Parking
a. All parking will be on the Fairgrounds and parking attendants will be provided
through a contract between the County and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
b. Parking Fees are collected by the Sheriff's Explorer's Youth Group and will not be
given to the Event Promoter.
5. Sales Events
a. Sales events are subject to the Special Event Application Process.
b. Sales event definitions may include but not be limited to Holiday Sales, Trade
Shows, Auctions, Recreation Vehicles such as RV's, ATV's, Boats, and Agricultural
equipment.
c. Sales Events will be limited to a 10-day maximum and each organization is limited
to 4 sales per calendar year.

I understand that use is not reserved until the Signed Agreement with 50%deposit, Certificate of Insurance in
name of Organization and naming St. Lucie County as an additional insured, Required Licenses and Permits for
