A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PETITIONS TO
EXPAND THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ST. LUCIE
COUNTY MOSQUITO CONTROL DISTRICT TO ADD
CARLTON COUNTY ESTATES; DETERMINING THAT A
MAJORITY OF THE PROPERTY OWNERS IN THE AREA
PROPOSED TO BE ADDED TO THE DISTRICT HAVE
SIGNED THE PETITIONS; WAIVING THE
REFERENDUM REQUIREMENT ON THE PROPOSED
EXPANSION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the St. Lucie County Mosquito Control District has made the
following determinations:
1. Section 29, Chapter 87-510, Laws of Florida, establishes a procedure
whereby the owners of property located outside of the boundaries of the District may
petition the district to expand the boundaries of the District to include their property.
2. On December 15, 2020, the District held a public hearing to consider
the petitions submitted by owners of lots within Carlton Country Estates, as recorded
in Plat Book 54, Pages 04-17 of the public records of St. Lucie County, Florida,
to add the property to the District.
3. The subject property is contiguous to the existing boundaries of the
District and would benefit from regular treatment for mosquitoes and sandflies by the
District.
4. Following the conclusion of the public hearing, the District determined
that it is in the best interest of the District and owner of the subject property to
expand the boundaries of the District to add the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Lucie County Mosquito
Control District:
1. The petitions to expand the District boundaries to add the following
described property are hereby approved:
Carlton Country Estates, as recorded in Plat Book 54, Pages
04-17 of the public records of St. Lucie County, Florida.
2. As the signatures on the petitions represent a majority of the owners of
the subject property, the requirement for a referendum of the qualified electors
residing in the subject property is hereby waived.
3. This resolution shall take effect on the date of adoption.

RECEIPT OF PETITIONS TO EXPAND BOUNDARIES
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2003-365, LAWS OF FLORIDA, I hereby certify that the St. Lucie
County Mosquito Control District has received petitions signed by the owner of seventeen (17)
parcels within the following described property seeking to expand the boundaries of the District
to include such property:
Carlton Country Estates, as recorded in Plat Book 54, Pages 04-17
of the public records of St. Lucie County, Florida.
