A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE FIRST WEEK OF MAY 2021 AS
"PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK" IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. Public Service Recognition Week is celebrated annually during the first week of May since
1985.
2. Public Service Recognition Week is dedicated to honoring public servants across the
nation for their dedicated efforts in federal, state, local, county, and tribal organizations.
3. Public Service Recognition Week is about connecting our citizens to government and
delivering messages about the value of public service in our communities.
4. Public servants, from those who risk their lives each day in service such as military
personnel, police officers, firefighters, healthcare professionals, and others to our
teachers, scientists, astronauts, laborers, and others, provide diverse services for our
communities. These unsung heroes do the work that keeps our nation working. Their
tireless efforts are especially critical today during the COVID-19 pandemic.
5. It is important that we recognize the accomplishments and contributions of our nation's
public servants at all levels.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
This Board does hereby proclaim the first week of May 2021 as "PUBLIC SERVICE
RECOGNITION WEEK" in St. Lucie County, Florida.
