k \ Dollie Borland started working for the St. Lucie County Library on November 17, 1975, when it
t was stillpart of the St. Lucie-Okeechobee Regional LibrarySystem and is retiringafter 45years of faithful g Y Z
service. Dollie has done basically every single job in the library system and then some. She was there ~)l
' ((( $ before the Internet and not only learned to search but was able to help patrons with their searches. She Z
o p was the Book Mobile Driver and drove that bookmobile all over the County.

p l� 1 Dollie has been headquartered at the Lakewood Park Branch since it opened in 1989. To test out �
Et 1 ��� (111the need for a brick and mortar branch, an old bookmobile was parked on Jennings Road and electricity 1: f was run into it from a utility pole. Dollie worked out of that location until the doors were opened to the *� )

newly build Lakewood Park Branch Library in 1989. Since then, she has gotten to know generations ofoff
r_k Lakewood Park residents and made sure that their reading needs were taken care of. She was a particular :--._

ire:, t Dollie took great pride in keeping her branch and its holdings immaculate and in good working 1 ;�
ffiff order. If you used "her branch", you knew you had better bring those materials back or suffer the $, 44(
' consequences. Dollie's desk and drawers overflow with chocolate and snacks and she is very good about `
it, �,�((( t 1 sharing them. ���
