A RESOLUTION APPROVING PROCEDURES FOR ST. LUCIE
COUNTY FACILITIES USED AS ELECTION POLLING FACILITIES
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. The County provides the use of certain facilities as polling places for an election;
and
2. The County continues to operate the facilities for their intended use while the
facilities are used as a polling place; and
3. This shared operation of the facilities for two purposes at a time puts a high
demand on the facility and its parking spaces; and
4. This increase in traffic resulting from elections causes packed parking lots, traffic
backups and increased possibility for accidents.
5. It is necessary to adopt the procedures set forth in Exhibit "A" to regulate the use
of County parking lots during elections. These regulations are to be enforced
informally without regard to context or message.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. This resolution, including Exhibit "A", shall take effect upon adoption.
After motion and second, the vote on this resolution was as follows:

St. Lucie County Election Polling Facilities Procedures
FACILITY PROCEDURE FOR FACILITY USED AS POLLING PLACE
1. VEHICLES:
Overnight parking is prohibited. Parking violations will be enforced as such. Residents
are hereby directed to follow all posted signage for parking at each designated polling
site.
2. SHADE STRUCTURES:
• Items such as shade structures, tents, tables, chairs are prohibited in any traffic
flow lane.
• Items such as shade structures, tents, tables, chairs are prohibited in any
designated parking area.
• Items such as shade structures, tents, tables, chairs are prohibited from being on
paved parking areas.
• Equipment requiring electrical hookups and portable generators are strictly
prohibited.
3. NO SOLICITATION ZONES
No person shall solicit within 150 feet of any drop box or any entrance to any polling place.
Nothing in this Resolution prohibits solicitation as permitted by law.
