A RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE DRUG ABUSE TREATMENT ASSN.,
INC., A NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION, THE CONTINUED USE OF
SPACE AT 4590 SELVITZ ROAD, FORT PIERCE, TO PROVIDE
BEHAVIOR HEALTH SERVICES FOR CHILDREN; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, The Drug Abuse Treatment Assn., Inc., a not for profit organization
("D.A.T.A."), requested the continued use of space at 4590 Selvitz Road, Fort Pierce, Florida (the
"Site") to provide behavioral health services for children; and
WHEREAS, Section 125.38, Florida Statutes, requires that any not for profit organization
wishing to use any real or personal property that may be owned by any county or this state or by
its board of county commissioners, for public or community interest and welfare, may apply to
the Board of County Commissioners for a conveyance or lease of such property; and
WHEREAS, Section 125.38 further states that if it is determined by the Board of County
Commissioners that such property is required for such use and is not needed for County
purposes, the Board can allow the use of such property; and
WHEREAS, D.A.T.A. and the County have made the Site available to D.A.T.A. to provide
behavioral health services for children since June 12, 1990, as authorized by prior resolutions of
the Board, and the Board desires to allow continued use of the Site through and including June
30, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
1. The Board hereby grants permission for continued use of the Site to provide
behavioral health services for children at no cost, provided that DATA continues to pay its
operating, maintenance and servicing charges and costs, and all other expenses incurred in the
use and operation of the Site.
2. The term of this use which began on June 12, 1990 shall continue to run through
and including June 30, 2024, unless otherwise terminated.
After motion and second, the vote on this resolution was as follows:
