HomeMy WebLinkAbout22-050 RESOLUTION NO. 22-050 A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE WEEK OF APRIL 10TH — 16TH, 2022 AS "PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK" IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. The Public Safety Telecommunicators of the St. Lucie County Department of Public Safety who have received and managed over 500,000 emergency calls for service last year, are the first and most critical contact that our citizens have with Public Safety and Emergency Services. 2. These Public Safety Telecommunicators are the vital link to those calling for help and to monitor emergency personnel's activities by radio and telephone and provide them with lifesaving information to ensure their safety. 3. The safety of St. Lucie County law enforcement and fire district personnel are dependent upon the quality and accuracy of information obtained by all Telecommunicators received from the citizens who telephone and text the St. Lucie County 9-1-1 Communications Center. 4. The Public Safety Telecommunicators of the St. Lucie County Department of Public Safety Communications Center have contributed significantly to the protection of life and the preservation of property. 5. Each Public Safety Telecommunicator, who is the unseen individual, providing a calm voice when emergencies arise, has exhibited compassion, empathy, and professionalism while keeping our community and its citizens safe. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. This Board does hereby proclaim April 10, 2022 through April 16, 2022 as "NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK" in St. Lucie County, Florida. 2. This Board further commends the St. Lucie County Public Safety Telecommunicators for their efforts on behalf of St. Lucie County and its citizens. PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 5th day of April, 2022.
