A RESOLUTION AMENDING AND RESTATING RESOLUTION No.
2021-148 OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERSOF ST.
LUCIE COUNTY APPROVING CERTAIN INCENTIVES ON BEHALF
OF CHENEY BROS., INC. (PROJECT BULLET)
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. The Board desires to amend and restate Resolution No. 2021-148 which was adopted on June 1, 2021
as follows:
2. Cheney Bros., Inc. (Project Bullet) is a food service distributor and is a targeted industry in St.
Lucie County.
3. In addition to a generous benefits package, Chen e y Bros. , Inc.'s (Project Bullet)
earnings per worker at $63,000 is above the average earnings for St. Lucie County.
4. Cheney Bros., Inc. (Project Bullet) has identified vacant land for potential construction of
a new distributionfacility in the City of Port St. Lucie and will invest$65 million in real property and
$7 million in tangible personal property capital investment.
5. The project will include approximately -365,000 square feet of new distribution space and the
creation of 275 new jobs.
6. St. Lucie County is offering a collaborative incentive package to Cheney Bros., Inc. (Project
Bullet) in partnership with the City of Port St. Lucie for the benefit of the residents of St. Lucie
County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, that in consideration of the benefits gained by the residents of St. Lucie County
through the development of Cheney Bros., Inc.'s (Project Bullet) new facility, the following incentives
are offered:
A. St. Lucie County Job Growth Incentive Grant (JGIG) — The Board authorizes County staff to
prepare a JGIG agreement with Cheney Bros., Inc. (Project Bullet) for the creation of 275 new
jobs pursuant to the Job Growth Investment Grant guidelines.
B. St. Lucie County Ad-Valorem Tax Exemption on New Real Property and Tangible Personal
Property: The Board authorizes County staff to assist Cheney Bros. Inc. (Project Bullet) in the
application for a10-year ad valorem tax exemption as described in the County's Economic
Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemptions program. The exemption is valued at 100% for;the
first five years; 90% in year 6; 80% in year 7; 60% in year 8; 40% in year 9 and 20% in year 10
for consideration by the Board in accordance with Section 42-46, St. Lucie County Code.
