A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY 1-7, 2022 AS
"PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK"
IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioner of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. Since 1985, each year, the President and Congress designate the first full week of
May as Public Service Recognition Week.
2. Public Service Recognition Week honors public servants across the nation for
their dedicated efforts as federal, state, local and/or tribal government employees.
3. The nation's governments serving more than 300 million Americans provide
essential services to create healthy, safe, and vibrant communities.
4. Public servants provide health services, administer justice, keep communities
safe, foster economic opportunities, and much more.
5. St. Lucie County's mission and core values are to deliver superior service that
enhances the quality of life, is welcoming and resilient, and provides opportunities, know-how,
and services to all residents.
6. St. Lucie County takes pride in the responsibility to protect and enhance the
health, well-being and safety, and quality of life of all residents in efficient and cost-effective
ways.
7. It is important that we recognize the accomplishments and contributions of
public servants at all levels and connect citizens to government and deliver messages about the
value of public service to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, does hereby proclaim May 1 - 7, 2022 as "Public Service Recognition Week" in
St. Lucie County, Florida.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 3rd day of May, 2022.
