A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY 4H YOUTH PROGRAM
FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS AT THE STATE OF FLORIDA 4H HORSE COMPETITION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. This past July, a group of youth from St. Lucie County traveled to Tampa, Florida
to represent St. Lucie County at the 2022 State of Florida 4H Horse Competition. During the two-
day competition, the highlight achievement was the competitors brought home the Large County
High Point award. This award represents the most points achieved as a single county among all
the participating Florida counties in the large County division.
2. In addition to the aforementioned award, the competitors from St Lucie brought
back the following awards: Speed Division High Point Champion (1st place); Speed Division High
Point Reserve (2nd Place) and the Florida Bred Horse High Point Champion (1st place).
3. St. Lucie County's competitors also competed in and brought home a large and
varied number of other placements in the disciplines that were offered which included speed,
western pleasure and English events.
4. Of special note, the St. Lucie County speed event competitors took first place in
every single Junior Division speed event that was hosted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida that this Board does hereby issue this proclamation to recognize the St. Lucie
County 4H Youth Program for their Achievements at the State of Florida 4H Horse Competition.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 4th day of October 2022.
