sustainable environment through conservation and protection as part of"Earth Day".
2. Earth Day helped to inspire momentous environmental legislation, including the creation of
the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the adoption of the Clean Air, Clean
Water and Endangered Species Acts.

communities and volunteers across the world. Communities of today and the future face
extraordinary environmental challenges, such as environmental degradation, habitat loss, public

access to high performance public spaces. St. Lucie County celebrates Earth Day by extending it
to the month of April in recognition of the commitment to environmental stewardship.Achieving
the County's strategic goal to protect, conserve and manage the County's natural resources
