LUCIE COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION'S GRANT SUBMISSION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES FOR AN "AGRICULTURE EDUCATION AND PROMOTION FACILITY" FUNDING GRANT; CERTIFYING THAT THE PROPOSED AGRICULTURE EDUCATION AND PROMOTION FACILITY SERVES A PUBLIC PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. St. Lucie County Fair Association notified this Board of the Fair Association's intent to submit an "Agriculture Education and Promotion Facility Request for Funding" to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. 2. The grant application requires that the Board hold a public hearing on the Fair Association's proposed grant application and determine whether to support the application and further determine whether the proposed facility serves a public purpose. 3. The Board held a public hearing on September 28, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. to consider the proposed grant application. Proof of publication is attached. 4. After hearing testimony at the September 28, 2023 public hearing this Board has determined to support the Fair Association's proposed grant application and further has determined to certify that the proposed facility serves a public purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. The Board supports the St. Lucie County Fair Association's Agriculture Education and Promotion Facility Request for Funding. 2. The Board hereby certifies that the proposed facility serves a public purpose.
