A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2023 AS
"CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION MONTH " IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY,
FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. Careers in Construction Month is an annual month designated to increase
public awareness and appreciation of construction craft professionals and
the entire construction workforce.
2. During this month, employers, trade associations, schools and other
training facilities are encouraged to conduct job fairs, panel discussions
and local community events to inform students and young adults of the
vast employment opportunities in the trades.
3. The Treasure Coast Builders Association, the Skilled Trades Committee,
among other entities have established Student Memberships, Mentoring
Programs, Ready to Work Boot Camps, Job Fairs, and Scholarships to
increase awareness of these career opportunities and to support all
programs that provide the educational pathways to obtain them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida does hereby proclaim the month of October 2023 as "Careers in Construction
Month" in St. Lucie County, Florida, encourages all citizens to join in recognizing the value of
construction craft professionals and the critical role they play in the development of the
economy.
