A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2023 COMPREHENSIVE EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT PLAN (CEMP) FOR ST. LUCIE COUNTY,FLORIDA
WHEREAS, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, sets forth a comprehensive program for Emergency
Management throughout the State of Florida;and
WHEREAS, Section 252.38, Florida Statutes, authorizes and directs each county to develop a
county emergency management plan and program that is coordinated and consistent with the State
emergency management plan;and
WHEREAS, Rule 27P-6.006, Florida Administrative Code, requires a review of the County's
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan at a minimum of every four years by the Florida Division of
Emergency Management to determine whether the County Plan meets the applicable State compliance
criteria; and
WHEREAS, the St. Lucie County Emergency Management Division received correspondence
dated October 3, 2023, from the Florida Division of Emergency Management advising that the County's
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan is in compliance with Rule 27P-6, Florida Administrative
Code;and
WHEREAS,Rule 27P-6.006(11),Florida Administrative Code,requires that the approved plan be
adopted by resolution of this Board within 90 days of receiving notification of compliance from the
Division.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.Lucie County,
Florida,that:
1. This Board hereby ratifies and adopts the 2023 St. Lucie County Comprehensive Emergency
Management Plan(CEMP),a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference.
2. The St.Lucie County Public Safety Director is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution
to Kevin Guthrie, Director of Emergency Management, State of Florida, Division of Emergency
Management,2555 Shumard Oak Boulevard,Tallahassee,Florida 32399-2100.
After a motion and second,the vote on this resolution was as follows:
