WHEREAS,it has been determined:
1. The Agricultural and Labor Program, Inc. (ALPI)is a private, non-profit community-based
organization that has been helping people and changing lives since 1968.
2. ALPI provides community services that make a profound and lasting difference in the lives
of children, families and farmworkers including Head Start, Early Head Start and Child
Development Services.
3. The realized outcomes in 2022 - 2023:
• Energy Assistance: 12,071 families were served.
• Child and Family Development: 825 children enrolled and 678 families received job
training.
• Elderly Home Energy Assistance Program: 2,901 seniors received energy assistance.
• Housing: 57 affordable housing units were successfully maintained.
• Food Program: 255,003 meals were served.
• Employment Support: 22 individuals obtained a job and 7 received vocational training.
4. St. Lucie County appreciates and supports the Agricultural and Labor Program, Inc. in their
efforts to embrace change and empower people.
5. January 27,2024 is ALPI's 56th Annual Corporate Meeting and Luncheon... "Engineering
Opportunities Beyond All Limits"
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED:
St. Lucie County recognizes January 27,2024 as"THE AGRICULTURAL AND LABOR
PROGRAM, INC.DAY"in St. Lucie County, Florida.
