A RESOLUTION HONORING FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION
SENIOR INVESTIGATOR KYLE LEE PATTERSON AND SUPPORTS THE STATE DESIGNATING THE
NORTH CAUSEWAY BOAT RAMP AND PARK AS FWC SENIOR INVESTIGATOR KYLE L. PATTERSON
MEMORIAL PARK IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. On February 7, 2024, the Florida Department of State approved the request to rename the
North Causeway Boat Ramp and Park in St. Lucie County as "FWC Senior Investigator Kyle L.
Patterson Memorial Park".
2. On June 9, 2022, Senior Investigator Kyle Lee Patterson succumbed to his injuries sustained
in a line-of-duty collision in which a vehicle, driven by an impaired driver, traveled into oncoming
traffic crashing into FWC Senior Investigator Patterson's patrol vehicle.
3. FWC Senior Investigator Kyle L. Patterson began his career with FWC in January 2007 and was
assigned to St. Lucie County in FWC South Region Alpha. He served St. Lucie County throughout his
entire FWC career and was a member of the Florida Agriculture Crimes Intelligence Unit and the
Florida Marine Intelligence Unit.
4. FWC Senior Investigator Kyle L. Patterson was a member of the Board of Directors for the
Florida Farm Bureau of St. Lucie County and actively participated with Future Farmers of America,
Florida Cattlemen's Association, and The Simmental Association.
5. FWC Senior Investigator Patterson received numerous awards throughout his career,
including a Lifesaving Award in 2010; an Exceptional Performance Award in 2015; a Letter of
Commendation in 2017; recognition for his performance during FWC's response to Hurricanes Irma
and Michael;the prestigious 2018 Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation Award for his involvement in a multi-
jurisdictional sea turtle egg poaching case that led to the arrest of individuals in possession of nearly
500 sea turtle eggs; and the 2020 FWC Team of the Year Award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County,
Florida, does hereby honor Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Senior Investigator
Kyle Lee Patterson and supports the State designating the North Causeway Boat Ramp and Park as
"FWC Senior Investigator Kyle L. Patterson Memorial Park" in St. Lucie County, Florida.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 2nd day of April, 2024.
