A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF MAY 2025 AS
"HAITIAN AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH" IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. The vibrant and rich culture of Haiti has made significant contributions to the
diversity and heritage of our society.
2. The people of Haiti have demonstrated resilience, creativity, and strength in the face
of adversity, inspiring generations with their determination and spirit.
3. Haitian Heritage Month provides an opportunity to celebrate and honor the
achievements, history, and traditions of the Haitian community.
4. The celebration of Haitian Heritage Month serves as a reminder of the importance of
cultural diversity and the contributions of Haitian-Americans to our nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County,
Florida that this Board does hereby proclaim the month of May 2025 as "Haitian American Heritage
Month" in St. Lucie County, Florida and further urge all St. Lucie County citizens to celebrate the rich
culture, history, and heritage of Haiti and to recognize the valuable contributions of the Haitian
community.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 6th day of May 2025.
