BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
RESOLUTION 2025-43
WHEREAS, the State of Florida has established the Florida
Boating Improvement Program to provide grants to local governments
for boating access, and
WHEREAS, the St. Lucie County Board of County
Commissioners is eligible to receive a grant award under this program,
and
WHEREAS, the St. Lucie County Board of County
Commissioners wishes to improve boating access at St. Lucie County
Harbour Pointe Park by pursuing the construction of a premier boat
launch facility.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board that:
1. The County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Director of
the Port, Inlet and Beaches Department to apply for a Florida
Boating Improvement Program grant in the amount of $250,000
to be used for Design and Permitting of a regional boat Ramp
facility at the County's Harbour Pointe Park.
2. The St. Lucie County Board of Commissioners approves up to
$250,000 in funding to be used as local matching funds for the
grant.
3. The St. Lucie County Board of Commissioners authorizes the
Director of the Port, Inlet & Beaches Department to serve as
project manager on behalf of the County should the grant be
awarded.
DONE AND ORDERED in regular session in St. Lucie County,
Florida this 18th day of February, 2025.
