A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY 4-10, 2025 AS
"ST. LUCIE COUNTY CORRECTION OFFICERS WEEK"
IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. The week of May 4th through 10th, 2025 has been designated as National
Correction Officers Week.
2. Correction Officers are responsible for the infinitely difficult task of providing for
the care and the custody of all inmates held each day in the county's detention
facility.
3. Correction Officers play a vital role in protecting the rights of the public to be
safeguarded from criminal activity; and the operation of a detention facility
represents a crucial component of the criminal justice system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby proclaim May 4th through 10th, 2025, as "ST. LUCIE
COUNTY CORRECTION OFFICERS WEEK" in St. Lucie County, Florida.
2. This Board urges the citizens of St. Lucie County to recognize our Correction
Officers for the fine job they do in protecting the rights of the citizens of St. Lucie
County.
