A RESOLUTION ALLOWING HEALTHY START COALITION OF
ST. LUCIE COUNTY,INC. AND KIDS CONNECTED BY DESIGN,INC.,
NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATIONS,THE CONTINUED USE OF SPACE
AT 117 ATLANTIC AVENUE, FORT PIERCE, FOR PLANNING AND
MONITORING PRENATAL AND INFANT CARE; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS,the Healthy Start Coalition of St. Lucie County, Inc. and Kids Connected by
Design, Inc., not for profit organizations (the "Coalition"), has requested the continued use of
twenty-four hundred (2,400) square feet at 117 Atlantic Avenue, Fort Pierce, Florida(the "Site")
for planning and monitoring prenatal and infant care; and,
WHEREAS, Section 125.38,Florida Statutes requires that any not-for-profit organization
wishing to use any real or personal property that may be owned by any county for public or
community interest and welfare,may apply to the board of county commissioners for a conveyance
or lease of such property; and,
WHEREAS, Section 125.38 further states that if it is determined by the board of county
commissioners that such property is required for such use and is not needed for County purposes,
the Board may allow the use of such property; and,
WHEREAS, the Coalition and the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County,
Florida (the "Board"), desire to make the Site available to the Coalition for planning and
monitoring prenatal and infant care.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. The Board does hereby grant to the Coalition permission to use the site at 117
Atlantic Avenue, Ft. Pierce, Florida for planning and monitoring prenatal and
infant care.
2. The term of this use shall be a period of five years, beginning on September 30,
2022 and ending on September 30, 2027.
3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
After a motion and second,the vote on this resolution was as follows:

Commissioner Cathy Townsend AYE
Commissioner Erin Lowry AYE
Commissioner James Clasby AYE
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 4th day of February, 2025.
