LUCIE COUNTY,FLORIDA WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. Mental health is an integral component of overall well-being, impacting individuals, families, and communities across St. Lucie County. 2. Despite its prevalence, mental health remains shrouded in stigma, preventing many from seeking help. 3. Early interventions and access to quality care are crucial for managing mental health conditions and are vital to creating a more compassionate, healthier,and thriving St. Lucie County. 4. Collaboration among local organizations, healthcare providers,and community leaders is essential to ensuring accessible and effective mental health resources for all residents. 5. May is recognized nationally as Mental Health Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to raise awareness, combat stigma, and promote mental health resources. 6. Mental Health Awareness Month encourages community members to wear green ribbons and participate in educational activities to show support, raise awareness, and promote mental health well-being. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida does hereby proclaim the month of May 2026 as"MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH"in St. Lucie County, Florida and encourages all citizens to empower individuals to seek help and prioritize self-care, advocate for accessible mental health services, and educate themselves and others about mental health conditions, treatment options,and resources.
