A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY TO AUTHORIZE
THE COUNTY TO ENTER INTO A PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR FINANCIAL PROJECT NUMBER
455617-1-94-01 FOR THE PORT OF FORT PIERCE'S
SEAPORT GRANT PROGRAM.
RECITALS
WHEREAS, on November 5, 2020 the Board of County Commissioners of
St. Lucie County ("Board") adopted the 2020 Port of Fort Pierce Master Plan and
Reinvestment Strategy; and
WHEREAS, the 2020 Port of Fort Pierce Master Plan and Reinvestment
Strategy identified certain projects to maintain and improve the Port of Fort Pierce
including a stormwater management plan; and
WHEREAS, on July 17, 2024, the County applied to the Florida Department
of Transportation ("FDOT") for a Public Transportation Grant for the Port of Fort
Pierce Regional Stormwater Design Project under the Seaport Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, FDOT has awarded the County funding for the Port of Fort
Pierce's Master Plan Update (Fin. Project No. 455616-94-01); and
WHEREAS, the FDOT Public Grant Agreement requires a resolution or
other form of official authorization from the County documenting the Board's
authorization to execute the FDOT Public Grant Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florida:
i. The Board hereby accepts the Public Transportation Grant Agreement with the
State of Florida (Fin. Project No. 455617-94-01) to provide funding for the Port of
Fort Pierce Master Plan Update Regional Stormwater Design Project.
2. The Board hereby authorizes the Chair to execute the Florida Department of
Transportation Public Transportation Grant Agreement 455617-1-94-01 and
further authorizes the County Attorney to execute the Agreement by approving it
as to form and correctness.
After motion and second, the vote on Resolution 2026-035 was as follows:
